Champions of Livability
Client: Partners for Livable Communities, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life and economic and social wellbeing of communities.
Need: To manage the branding and event logistics for an honors banquet and fundraiser hosted at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. “Celebrating Champions of Livability” is a national awards program recognizing 23 individuals, four organizations and two communities for their role in shaping a more livable, sustainable and equitable America. Honorees include World Central Kitchen and José Andrés; William Reilly, Former Administrator of Environmental Protection Agency and Former President World Wildlife Fund; and Jane Chu, Former Chair, National Endowment for the Arts..
Response: Branding, copywriting and website support and vendor management for the “Champions of Livability” program that included a new logo, print and digital invitations and marketing materials, press releases, custom awards, and a 24-page event program. Logistics management included managing the guest list and invitations, and working with the venue and emcees (Peter Harkness, founder of Governing magazine, and the Honorable Glenda E. Hood, who served as Florida Secretary of State) to execute a seated luncheon and awards program.
